Clean the Front Door Before the Basement

By , Salesforce CTA·1 min read·First shared on LinkedIn,

Many teams spend months discussing technical debt while users struggle through cluttered Tabs, crowded Page Layouts, and hundreds of List Views. Experienced cleaners start at the front door: Tabs, Page Layouts and List Views.

Tabs

Remove Tabs nobody uses. Hide Tabs that do not belong to a user's job. Put the most important Tabs first. And consider stopping users from customizing their own navigation, because every personal workaround makes the Org harder to support.

Page Layouts

Remove unused Buttons, Fields, Related Lists, and sections. Keep only what users actually need. Use Tabs on the page to hide less important components, so the screen feels lighter without removing useful information completely.

List Views

Define a small set of golden List Views. Remove outdated and duplicate public List Views. Help users to clean up old private List Views.

You don't need to start with complex Flows, Apex, or integrations.

Start with the front door, Users will notice the difference immediately.
