When Did You Clean Up Your Data Last?

By , Salesforce CTA·1 min read·First shared on LinkedIn,

A simple question for every Salesforce platform owner: When was the last time you cleaned up your data?

  • Old opportunities nobody will ever look at again.
  • Duplicate Accounts.
  • Contacts that haven't been touched in years.
  • Records that add no business value anymore.
  • Accounts without action in Years
  • Tasks from 5 years ago
  • Emails from long ago
  • Products still active you are not selling anymore

As architects and decision-makers, it's easy to miss. We don't experience the cluttered search results and confusing record lists that users deal with every day.

And eventually users stop reporting it. Not because the problem is gone, but because they got tired of reporting it.

Dirty data doesn't just affect reports.

It affects users, integrations, automations, storage costs, performance, and every future project built on top of that data.

So I'll ask again: When did you clean up your data last?

PS: Thanks Maham Hassan for opening my eyes to data!
